英語でリラックマな気分

A cartoon character in a bear-suit called Rilakkuma
(although I prefer to spell it as Relakkuma)
is hugely popular here in Japan.
And a large proportion of such following
comes not necessarily from kids
but from grown-ups.
You can easily recognize the adult population
as its targeted readership
when you take a look at its picture book series.
In them, while this somewhat mysterious bear-like guy
is depicted in a usual cartoon style,
you can also enjoy reading corresponding captions
that represent what the pseudo-bear sees as wisdom.
Sometimes, they tap into proverbs
that reflect Japanese traditional values,
which encourage us adults
who have to go through hectic daily drudgery,
to take a moment off
and take stock of our attitude toward life.
One such example reads

「石橋をたたいても忘れる。」,
which can be blandly translated like
"There's always something you fail to remember
no matter how careful you might be".
Although this translation could pass
as the gist of what's originally said in Japanese,
it's way too prosaic
to convey the undertone of the partly-cited Japanese proverb,
which has a reference to "examining a stone bridge".
So how could you translate this kind of material into English?
If I were commissioned to do some translating for the text,
I would use an English idiom
that refers to thoroughness of
what you're trying to do,
with a slight hint of stone.
It would be like the following:

"There's only so much you can remember
though you may try to leave no stone unturned.
"

In this example,
I used an idiom "leave no stone unturned,"
which means you would do everything humanly possible to achieve something.
In this way,
you could preserve
what the original Japanese text tries to convey
through the use of a maxim,
thus being able to keep the work fit for adult consumption.
